The Anambra State Police Command has formally decorated 110 officers recently promoted to new ranks by the Police Service Commission.
The decoration ceremony, held at the command’s headquarters, followed a similar exercise conducted at Nigeria Police Zone 13, Ukpo. The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, noted that the promotions were part of a nationwide exercise approved last year.
The event featured the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nnaghe Obono Itam, other senior officers, and family members of the honorees performing the decoration. Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Mr. Felix Garuba, urged the newly promoted officers to uphold the ethics of the profession, serve as role models to their subordinates, and use their new ranks responsibly.
One of the decorated officers, Chief Superintendent of Police Andy Jokpeyibo, expressed gratitude to God for the elevation and pledged to advance the goals of the Nigeria Police Force through dedicated service.
Out of the 110 officers, 66 Assistant Superintendents of Police were promoted to Deputy Superintendents, 24 Deputy Superintendents advanced to Superintendents, and 20 Superintendents were elevated to Chief Superintendents.
