The Anambra State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu, MNIPS, fwc, PhD, has reinforced its commitment to tackling crime at its roots by fostering strategic partnerships. In a bid to discourage criminal tendencies among young people, the Command is collaborating with the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs to promote a safer and more secure society.
During a courtesy visit by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, CP Orutugu emphasized the vital role of women in shaping societal values. He highlighted their influence as caregivers and educators in instilling discipline and positive morals in children—key elements in crime prevention.
The partnership will focus on:
– Equipping women with resources and programs to strengthen their roles in child upbringing and education.
– Encouraging women’s participation in community initiatives that foster social stability.
– Working with women-led organizations to develop crime prevention strategies and enhance public safety.
Reaffirming the Police Command’s dedication to crime prevention, CP Orutugu called on all stakeholders to support initiatives that discourage criminal behavior and promote law and order across Anambra State.
