Residents of Anambra State expressed their joy following Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s announcement of the extension of free education to senior secondary schools. This new initiative builds on the existing policy of free education for pupils from kindergarten to Junior Secondary School three and promises to significantly ease the financial burden on families.
Governor Soludo also assured civil servants of the commencement of minimum wage payments starting next month, further lifting the spirits of Ndi Anambra.
In reactions gathered by ABS, several community members, including Sir Goodluck Nwankwo, a former President-General of Nibo Union; civil servant Mr. Umeadi Chibundo; actor Jude Nwafor; and Mrs. Uzoma Oramalu, a mother, praised the Governor’s compassionate leadership, acknowledging the financial relief this will bring in the face of Nigeria’s economic challenges.
Students such as Treasure Enyim, Stanley Nwire, Francisca Oraegbunam, and Chinecherem Okechukwu also expressed excitement, noting how the policy will reduce their parents’ financial strain. They showered prayers on Governor Soludo, thanking him for his generosity.
