Security agencies in Anambra State have announced movement restrictions from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, to ensure the smooth conduct of the local government elections.
Speaking through the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nnaghe Obono, the security agencies urged citizens to adhere strictly to the restrictions. Mr. Obono assured residents that the police would provide adequate security during the elections, particularly in areas prone to insecurity.
Communities such as Lilu, Iseke, Ubuluisiuzo, and Mbosi, all in Ihiala Local Government Area, will vote at their local government headquarters due to security concerns. The commissioner confirmed that security forces have been strategically deployed to maintain peace during the voting process.
He encouraged the public to participate in the elections, assuring that their safety would be guaranteed as they cast their votes for their preferred candidates.
