Awka, Nigeria — The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Somotochukwu Udeze, has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his recent broadcast on local government autonomy, stating that it aligns with constitutional provisions and legislative processes. Udeze commended the governor for signing into law the Economic Planning and Development Bill, 2024, and the Local Government Administration Bill, 2024, noting that these actions are in the best interest of the people.
According to Udeze, Governor Soludo’s broadcast provided clear and detailed explanations that reflect the joint responsibilities of the judiciary, legislature, and local government. He lauded the administration’s commitment to adhering to constitutional principles in its decision-making process.
“The signing of these two critical laws is a significant step toward enhancing development at the local government level and improving the living standards of rural communities,” the Speaker noted.
Udeze also commended the state lawmakers for their diligence in drafting the laws, emphasizing that their thorough approach ensures the laws will drive progress in council areas. He assured Ndi Anambra that the state legislature would work to ensure that the full benefits of these laws are realized for the betterment of the people.
