The Anambra State Government, through its Ministry of Health, has distributed 150 oxygen cylinders and accessories to public, faith-based, and private hospitals across the state.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, led the distribution in Awka, emphasizing the commitment of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration to enhancing the state’s healthcare system.
Dr. Obidike highlighted that in 2023, the state government supported training for healthcare workers in faith-based, government, and private hospitals on the use of oxygen. He stressed the vital role of oxygen cylinders in providing a reliable and portable source of oxygen, essential for human life.
He noted that these cylinders are crucial for various medical settings, including oxygen therapy for patients with respiratory issues, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and other breathing difficulties.
