Anambra State Executive Council Greenlights Major Projects for Security, Infrastructure, and Development

The 34th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved a series of strategic contracts aimed at bolstering security, infrastructure, and tourism within the state, including enabling night landings at Chinua Achebe International Airport.

Key Initiatives:

1. Enhanced Security
ANSEC endorsed a combination of kinetic and non-kinetic security strategies to create a safer environment across Anambra.

2. Heritage Sites Development
Red Clay Consulting was awarded a ₦125,807,290.63 contract to create a comprehensive, commercially viable master plan for the state’s heritage sites and tourist destinations.

3. Infrastructure Upgrades
– Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital: Triseconds Resources Ltd. will reconstruct the entrance gate with a budget of ₦112,700,000, targeting completion in two months.
– College of Nursing Sciences, Isuofia: A contract of ₦150,692,345.91 was approved for additional property clearing and fence extension.

4. Night Landings at Chinua Achebe International Airport
To facilitate nighttime flights, Mercy Aviation Communication Electronics and Industries Nig Ltd. will install airfield lighting for ₦489,716,250, with completion expected in two weeks.

5. Power Supply Improvements
– Anambra Mix-Use Industrial City (AMIC), Ogboji: A new 33 KV line extension will be implemented by FrankTorch Nig Ltd. at a cost of ₦1,742,706,051.91. Additionally, Zamic Ventures Ltd. will install a dedicated injection sub-station for ₦1,240,500,000.
– Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University College of Medicine: El Bukelz Nig Ltd. will supply and install a 200 KVA/11KV transformer for ₦42,759,372.

6. Naval Base Renovation
The Naval Base Complex at Iyiowa Odekpe, Ogbaru, will be refurbished by El Bukelz Nig Ltd. for ₦76,244,438.35, with a two-month timeline.

7. Alex Ekwueme Square Enhancements
Pazim Engineering Ltd. will supply and install UV-resistant chairs at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, for ₦715,119,562.50, with installation scheduled for completion in six weeks.

8. Data Platform Development
Octave Analytics and Insights Ltd. was awarded a ₦97,087,625 contract to develop the Anambra State Solution Data Platform, aimed at advancing data-driven governance.

These contracts represent ANSEC’s commitment to enhancing Anambra’s security, infrastructure, and overall development.
