The Anambra State Government, through the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), has commenced the reconstruction of over 1.7 kilometers of internal roads at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Awka.
Speaking with ABS News, the Managing Director of ACTDA, Mr. Ossy Onuko, described the project as part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to transforming COOUTH. He noted that the project involves the complete reconstruction of the hospital’s internal roads and praised Governor Soludo for addressing critical needs across various sectors in the state.
Mr. Onuko assured that the reconstruction would be completed within three days of commencement. He also highlighted other ongoing projects at COOUTH, including the recently completed ultra-modern gate and the construction of a Trauma Centre.
During a courtesy visit, the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Joe Akabuike, lauded Governor Soludo for his visionary leadership and commended Mr. Onuko’s efforts. Dr. Akabuike emphasized that the hospital’s mission is to become a hub for medical tourism, driven by state-of-the-art infrastructure and human resource development.
The initiative underscores the Soludo administration’s dedication to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and overall socioeconomic development in Anambra State.
