Led by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, the monitoring exercise aimed to ensure the smooth implementation of the program across the state. Mr. Agha Mba emphasized that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision for the program is to create a sustainable business ecosystem for the youth, thereby reducing unemployment and enhancing security.
The *1 Youth 2 Skills Solution* Program is a community-based initiative comprising five stages: Apprenticeship/Vocational Skills Training, Entrepreneurship, Cooperative Formation, Business Financing, and a One-Year Mentorship Scheme. Out of the 220,000 youths who applied, 10,000 were selected for the training.
