The Anambra State Government has clarified that the recent departure of Mr. Chido Obidiegwu from his role as Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) is a routine redeployment and not a dismissal, as has been reported by certain media outlets.
The clarification comes following the approval by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, of a new Managing Director for ABS as part of the state’s ongoing restructuring efforts. The government emphasized that the redeployment is part of a broader reshuffling aimed at enhancing the efficiency of government operations.
In a statement, Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, stressed that the move should not be misinterpreted as a termination of Obidiegwu’s service, noting that the former MD has merely been reassigned to another role within the government. This clarification aims to dispel the false narrative circulating in some quarters.
The redeployment of Mr. Obidiegwu is seen as part of a strategic effort by the Soludo administration to reinvigorate key sectors of the state’s governance.
The state government urged the public to disregard any reports suggesting that Obidiegwu was sacked.
