In a bid to enhance the visual appeal of Anambra State, the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) has initiated a statewide campaign to remove or replace outdated and non-compliant billboards.

This initiative, referred to as “billboard decluttering,” involves the removal of billboards that no longer serve their intended purpose or violate existing regulations. Billboards promoting defunct products or services, as well as those that have become damaged and pose a safety risk, are the primary targets of this effort.

Dr. Odili Ujuboñu, the Managing Director of ANSAA, emphasized during the launch of the campaign in Amamsea, Awka North Local Government Area, that this exercise is a key responsibility of the agency. He noted that it aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to make Anambra State more livable and visually appealing.

Additionally, Dr. Ujuboñu highlighted that the campaign will ensure better spacing of billboards, thereby enhancing the value for advertisers by increasing visibility and viewership.

The exercise saw the involvement of officials from the Awka Capital Development Authority (ACTDA), led by Town Planning Officer Mr. Darlington Nwenyim, and the South East Regional Chairperson of the Outdoor Advertising Agency of Nigeria (OAAN), Mrs. Vivian Uhonmobhil.
