The Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, hosted its third International Multidisciplinary Conference, focusing on leveraging digital and technological innovations for economic growth and sustainable development.
The conference, chaired by Professor Ellis Idemobi, centered on the theme *”Innovation for Sustainable Development in a Digital Era”* and provided a platform for scholars, researchers, and experts to exchange ideas, share research findings, and explore collaborative opportunities.
Declaring the conference open, the Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, represented by the Director of Higher Education, Mrs. Oyibo Alor, highlighted the administration’s commitment to fostering innovative programs. She urged the institution to continue equipping students with the technical skills and character necessary to drive Nigeria’s economic transformation.
In a lead paper presentation, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Kate Omenugha, represented by Professor Njideka Ebisi, called on educators and policymakers to embrace emerging technologies. She emphasized the need to prepare students for success in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
In her welcome address, the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Njideka Chiekezie, reiterated the institution’s dedication to excellence through the promotion of technological and academic competencies in a conducive learning environment.
The event also featured an award ceremony where notable individuals, including Professor Chuma-Udeh and the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka, were honored for their contributions to education and development.
