Anambra State Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, has praised the people of Anambra for their resilience and excellence in business, both at home and abroad. Speaking during a sensitization program in Awka titled “Accelerating Made-in-Anambra By Developing and Promoting Non-Oil Export in the State,” Udechukwu lauded the state’s unmatched achievements in infrastructure and development.
He highlighted Anambra’s recent recognition as the most SME-friendly state in the Southeast at an event hosted by SMEDAN and international partners at the Presidential Villa. Udechukwu emphasized the state government’s commitment to investing in non-oil exports, infrastructure, and the welfare of its people, including free education and healthcare initiatives.
The commissioner also noted ongoing efforts to develop a 400-kilometer road network to improve business mobility and power supply challenges faced by SMEs. He reassured that these investments aim to build a smart mega-city and ensure a sustainable living standard for Ndi Anambra.
Regional Coordinator of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Mr. Macpherson Ileogben, also stressed the importance of non-oil exports to boost foreign exchange, while the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) emphasized the state’s rich agro and mineral resources as key opportunities for global trade.
The event featured exhibitions of processed food products from local Anambra producers, with calls for increased sensitization and cooperative efforts to strengthen export capabilities.
