Anambra State has just won two awards at the national primary healthcare leadership challenge.
1. For winning the best state in the southeast zone, Anambra State was presented with a cheque of $500,000 (five hundred thousand dollars).
2. For winning the overall best state in the country in the Primary Healthcare Leadership challenge, the State was presented with a cheque of $700,000 (Seven hundred thousand dollars).
This brings to a total prize money of $1,200,000 (One million two hundred thousand dollars) won by Anambra state.
According to the organizers, the Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge aimed to enhance Governors’ commitment to human capital development and primary health care through mobilizing state resources, promoting accountability, and fosterinh innovation for gender-specific health outcomes.
