Anambra State’s ‘One Youth, Two Skills’ Workshop Trains 620 Master Trainers

620 master trainers have participated in the second phase of the Anambra State Government’s “One Youth, Two Skills” Solution Initiative, aimed at value re-orientation. The workshop, held at the International Convention Centre in Awka, focused on the theme “Developing Strategic Partnerships for Optimal Service Delivery.”

Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, urged the master trainers to embody the right values as change agents and emphasized the importance of acquiring the necessary skills to achieve the program’s goals. He noted that the training covered essential topics such as managing online accounts and dashboards, with the expectation that these skills would be passed on to the trainees.

The Commissioner praised Governor Charles Soludo’s commitment to youth empowerment, highlighting the administration’s focus on shifting the mindset of youths from consumption to innovation by equipping them with employable and exportable skills. He stressed the Governor’s high expectations and reminded the trainers of the ongoing evaluation process, cautioning them against jeopardizing the future of the trainees.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms. Chinwe Okoli, reiterated that the success of the initiative depends on the results delivered by the master trainers. Similarly, the Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, encouraged the trainers to be driven by passion, emphasizing their critical role in imparting skills to beneficiaries.

During a lecture, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Emeka Omata, outlined the structured nature of the “One Youth, Two Skills” program, guiding the trainers on course content management, including attendance logs, course outlines, and timelines. He emphasized the importance of adhering to established standards, noting that there are no shortcuts in the program.

Additionally, Tochukwu Ebeku from the Anambra Information Communication Technology Agency trained the master trainers on the application of GPS and data entry, while Daniel Onuorah provided guidance on the official website of the Ministry.

The event also saw the presence of Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, among other dignitaries. Governor Soludo had recently launched the second phase of the initiative, underscoring his administration’s dedication to youth development in the state.
