Anambra Students Shine in 2024 Best Brain Contest

In a celebration of academic excellence reminiscent of the ancient Olympic Games, students from across Anambra State converged at the ASUBEB Hall in Awka for the 2024 Best Brain Contest (BBC). The fourth edition of the competition brought together over 30 schools in a thrilling display of intellectual prowess.

The contest, divided into two phases, began with a written test that narrowed the field to six finalists in each category—Igbo and Mathematics. The finalists then faced off in an intense oral round that tested their knowledge, speed, and composure under pressure.

In the Mathematics category, Miss Maryann Nkemelu of Mater Amabilis Secondary School, Umuoji emerged victorious, while Miss Chikaodili Obiekezie of St. Patrick’s College, Awka claimed the top spot in the Igbo category. Both winners expressed their gratitude to the organizers for the platform to showcase their talents and celebrated their achievements with joy.

Dr. Frank Igbojindu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Best Brain Contest, underscored the significance of education as the foundation of societal growth. He thanked this year’s sponsors, IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation, and Akpoazaa Foundation, for their invaluable support.

Dr. Igbojindu also announced plans to expand the contest in future editions by including federal and state universities in the South East, alongside secondary schools.

The 2024 Best Brain Contest highlighted the transformative power of education and the importance of nurturing young talent to build a brighter future for society.
