Anambra State has achieved a significant milestone as its Solution Innovation District (SID) has been officially recognized as a full member of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP). This global recognition places Anambra among over 400 innovative organizations worldwide, positioning the state as a growing hub for technology and innovation.
Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, hailed this development as a key step toward his vision of transforming Anambra into “Africa’s Silicon Valley.” He emphasized that membership in the IASP would open up significant opportunities for investment, partnerships, and access to cutting-edge technologies.
The SID has already been a catalyst for empowering young talent in Anambra, with initiatives such as Code Anambra, levelUp Anambra, the Teen Digital Bootcamp, and the Techstars Startup Weekend driving innovation and entrepreneurship across the state.
“We are committed to fostering a vibrant tech ecosystem and providing opportunities for our youth to thrive,” Governor Soludo said. “With this partnership, Anambra is set to become a leading force in Africa’s technology landscape.”
As the state continues its journey toward innovation, Governor Soludo expressed optimism about future developments, hoping that Anambra would remain at the forefront of Nigeria’s digital transformation.
“May Anambra continue to win!” he concluded.
