Anaocha Local Government Area has held its inaugural Development and Security Trust Fund Summit to address insecurity and support the Anambra State Government in safeguarding lives and property.
The summit, which took place in Agulu, was chaired by Chief Chukwuemeka Obielom and attended by top government officials, security chiefs, industry leaders, traditional rulers, and other key stakeholders. Themed *”Repositioning Security Architectural System in Anaocha cum Fundraising,”* the event sought innovative solutions to enhance security in the area.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, Mr. Nnaghe Obono Itam, advocated for community policing, emphasizing the importance of active citizen involvement in sharing valuable information. He also announced the forthcoming launch of *Operation Udo Ga Achi* by the state government and urged Anaocha to establish a community-based security system. This would include training and equipping a robust vigilante service to work in collaboration with the police using modern technologies.
In his address, the Mayor of Anaocha, Comrade Rome Ibekwe, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing the lives and property of Ndi Anaocha. He called on stakeholders to collaborate in restructuring the local security architecture.
Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi (Rtd.), highlighted the success of the Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) model in other sectors of the state and recommended its adoption in the security sector for sustainable development.
The summit represents a united effort by the Anaocha community to confront security challenges and create a safer environment for all residents.
