British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua has ignited excitement for a potential future clash with Tyson Fury by engaging in a war of words with his rival. Joshua has vowed to use Fury’s own taunts against him when they eventually meet in the ring.
In a recent interview, the 33-year-old heavyweight shared that he meticulously remembers every jibe made by Fury, using them as motivation for their anticipated bout.
“This is one of my rivals, this is someone I want to compete with one day,” Joshua declared in a YouTube video when asked about Fury’s insult calling him a “sausage.”
“Everything he says I store it in my memory and when the fight happens I want to use it as fuel,” he added.
Joshua, who stands at 6ft 6in and formerly held the IBF, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, is reestablishing himself among boxing’s elite. After a devastating defeat to Andy Ruiz, he redeemed himself with a strong 12-round rematch victory. Despite subsequent losses to the current heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua has rebounded with three significant wins, including a notable victory over former MMA star Francis Ngannou from Cameroon.
Ahead of the eagerly anticipated fight against Fury, Joshua’s fiery response to Fury’s insults serves as a stark warning to the Gypsy King.
Known for his calm and composed demeanor, Joshua’s uncharacteristically aggressive comments have heightened the anticipation among boxing fans eager to see the two heavyweights trade verbal and physical blows in the ring.
