APC Founding Member Dr George Moghalu Resigns from Party

Chief Dr. George Moghalu, a foundational member and first National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially resigned from the party.

Moghalu’s resignation, which had been the subject of speculation throughout the year, was confirmed on Tuesday. In his resignation letter, addressed to the chairman of Uruagu Ward 1, Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA, Anambra State, and dated August 26, Moghalu cited personal reasons for his departure.

The letter, copied to both the Local Government Area and State Chairmen of the APC, stated: “I bring you good wishes of my dear family and to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC with effect from today, August 26, 2024. Please, kindly accept this as my personal decision. It is my utmost desire and expectations that all of us will continue to maintain the cordial relationship that we have built together over the years.”

Moghalu, who previously served as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), expressed his hope for continued goodwill and wished the party and its members the best in his farewell note.
