The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has unveiled plans for a nationwide re-registration initiative, as disclosed by the National Leader of the party and Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo. This announcement was made during a gathering of the executives from the 326 wards of APGA in the state, held at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia.
Governor Soludo revealed that the party intends to embark on a fresh registration drive for its members, who will be issued digital cards akin to voter cards. He emphasized that the party is finalizing preparations to enhance its digital infrastructure, aiming to become the first political party in Nigeria to fully embrace digital technology.
Highlighting APGA’s foundational principles, Governor Soludo underscored the party’s commitment to championing development initiatives, particularly for marginalized segments of society. He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s prospects through the vehicle of APGA, citing various ongoing initiatives in Anambra State, including infrastructure projects, healthcare provisions, and educational support.
Governor Soludo outlined further plans for his administration, including the establishment of primary health centers in all 326 political wards, construction of five new general hospitals, and distribution of agricultural seedlings. He reassured the public of APGA’s dedication to advancing its progressive agenda, which he identified as a distinguishing feature of the party.
The National Chairman of APGA, Barrister Sylvester Ezeokenwa, and the State Chairman, Barrister Ifeatu Obi-okoye, lauded Governor Soludo’s commitment to revitalizing and strengthening the party’s ideological stance, positioning APGA as a beacon of responsibility in Nigeria’s political landscape.
The gathering witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Somtochukwu Udeze, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Barrister Joachin Anaeto, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nawbunwanne, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, among others.
