The Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, has called on residents of Anambra to join the party as it initiates a nationwide e-registration exercise.
Speaking from the party’s regional office in Awka, Barr. Obi-Okoye emphasized the significance of a meeting held by executives from the state’s 326 wards. He underscored the importance of adhering to the Electoral Act of 2022, which mandates electronic generation of membership cards to ensure secure transmission to the INEC database, thereby minimizing manipulation.
The decision to embrace digitalization, according to the Anambra APGA state chairman, aims to streamline the membership process and provide members with digitally verifiable cards resembling voter cards. He lauded Governor Soludo’s developmental initiatives, particularly those benefiting the disadvantaged, and urged all Igbo individuals to register with the party.
Highlighting the advantages of e-registration, Barrister Obi-Okoye stressed its reliability, prevention of membership backdating, and efficient data storage capabilities.
