APGA Wins All Seats in Anambra Local Government Elections

Awka – The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has emerged victorious in the local government elections held on September 28, 2024, winning all chairmanship and councillorship seats across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State.

Genevieve Osakwe, the Chairman of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), announced the results at the commission’s office in Awka. She described the election as free and fair, emphasizing that the commission meticulously collated and analyzed the results to prevent any errors.

Osakwe noted that none of the opposition candidates, political parties, or their agents attended the declaration event at the ANSIEC office. She expressed gratitude to the citizens of Anambra State for their active participation in the electoral process and commended the security agencies for maintaining peace and order throughout the elections.

“This is to affirm the result of the chairmanship and councillorship election held on September 28, 2024. The commission carefully collated and analyzed the results to ensure that there were no mistakes. All scores and parties were announced at the polling units yesterday. We are here today to affirm the results as recorded,” Osakwe stated.

The election was conducted across all polling units in Anambra State, with Osakwe confirming that it was characterized by credibility and fairness.
