Chidiebele Obika | I-Witness News

The Federal Court of Appeal, Abuja Division has ruled that the former national Chairman of APGA, Dr Ike Oye, the present national chairman of the party, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa and the All Progressives Grand Alliance Party can appeal its judged delivered on June 28, 2024.

The Court maintained that the issue in the appeal borders on APGA leadership tussle and yet APGA as a Political Party and it’s National Chairman, Barr SLY EZEOKENWA were not joined in the Appeal and therefore unanimously granted Leave to Chief Victor Ike Oye, Barr Ezeokenwa Sly and APGA to appeal the judgment it earlier delivered.

In a press statement issued after the court ruling, the National Legal Adviser of APGA, Barrister Agunzi Victor informed thusly, “The Court of Appeal unequivocally stated that the issue in the appeal borders on APGA leadership tussle and yet APGA as a Political Party and it’s National Chairman Barr SLY EZEOKENWA were not joined in the Appeal.

“Consequently the Court of Appeal found merit in the applications for leave to Appeal in Application Nos:
1. CA/ABJ/PRE/ROA/723MI/2024
2. CA/ABJ/PRE/ROA/CV/728MI/2024
3. CA/ABJ/PRE/ROA/CV/870MI/2024

“Barr Sly Ezeokenwa and APGA were granted leave to Appeal as parties interested.

“All efforts by Edozie Njoku and his ragtag group to stop Barr Sly Ezeokenwa and APGA from appealing to the Supreme Court were aborted by the Court of Appeal.

Furthermore, Mr Agunzi Esq. Said, “The Application for stay of execution by Chief Victor Ike Oye was refused because it has been overtaken by event.

“The stage is now clear for the Supreme Court to now clarify it’s judgment of 14th October 2021 and the correction made on 24th March, 2023.”

And looking at the attached document as provided and certified by the Supreme Court on 5th August 2024, you will conclude with me that It is indeed, finished”, he said.
