Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare has credited head coach Eric Chelle for boosting the team’s confidence ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
Arokodare, who earned his first call-up under Chelle, spoke in Kigali ahead of Friday’s match at the Amahoro Stadium. He praised the coach’s leadership and tactical clarity, describing him as a coach with a clear vision.
“The coach has brought a lot of confidence and has shown us how much belief he has in us. That is a huge boost for the team,” Arokodare told Nigerian reporters. “He is a very confident coach with a plan—he knows what he wants and how he wants to play. When you are playing under a coach like that, you know exactly what you have to do.”
Nigeria is still searching for its first win in the qualifiers, currently sitting in fifth place in Group C, just above bottom-placed Zimbabwe.
