Arraignment of APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje Rescheduled to June 5

The Kano State High Court No. 7 has postponed the arraignment of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, to June 5. Ganduje, along with his wife Hafsat Umar, son Abdullahi Umar, and five others, are facing trial in the court.

The defendants also include Abubaka Bawuro, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textile Ltd., and Lasage General Enterprise Ltd.

The rescheduling of the arraignment follows the reassignment of the case by the State Chief Judge, Justice Dije Aboki, to High Court No. 7, presided over by Justice Amina Adamu. Previously, the case was assigned to Kano State High Court No. 5, under the jurisdiction of Justice Usman Na’abba.

Initially, the court had scheduled May 16 for a ruling on the request for substituted service on the defendants. However, with the case reassigned, the arraignment date has been moved to June 5.

The new charge sheet, seen by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), contains 11 count charges, an increase from the initial eight charges. The charges include allegations of criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.
