The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Comrade ThankGod Anago, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the equitable distribution of palliatives to the residents of Awka North.
Comrade Anago made this statement while overseeing the distribution of hundreds of bags of corn and garri to the ten communities within Awka North L.G.A. These food palliatives, sourced from the National Strategic Food Reserve through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), aim to alleviate the economic and food hardships faced by the most vulnerable due to the recent fuel subsidy removal.
During the distribution exercise, Comrade Anago emphasized his administration’s dedication to securing continuous support from NEMA and SEMA to provide relief materials to the people of Awka North. He urged community leaders to ensure that the food palliatives reach all eligible recipients without any discrimination.
Comrade Anago expressed gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his administration for facilitating the safe arrival of the food palliatives in the state. He also called on the federal government to maintain and expand the food palliative program to address the widespread hunger in Nigeria.
The chairman further encouraged the residents of Awka North and other areas in Anambra State to continue praying for the success of the current state government in its mission to build a livable and prosperous homeland.
