Spotify has announced that Ayra Starr and Tems are the most streamed Nigerian artists for the first half of 2024. The global music streaming platform released a list of Nigeria’s top 30 tracks, showcasing the popularity of these artists.
Ayra Starr’s success was highlighted by her collaboration with Rauw Alejandro on the track “Santa,” which took the top spot. Her solo hit “Comma” secured the second position. Tems followed closely in third place with her song “Love Me Jeje.”
Other notable tracks include Luciano and Omah Lay’s “Another Vibe” in fourth place and Burna Boy and Savage’s “Metro Booming Just Like Me” in fifth. Tyla and Tems’s collaboration “No.1” came in sixth.
Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music Sub-Saharan Africa, emphasized during a press conference in Lagos that the list reflects the most listened-to Nigerian tracks outside the country between January 1 and June 30, 2024.
