Graduating students of Babcock University High School, Ogun State, have been encouraged to consistently strive for excellence and maintain the values instilled in them during their time at the institution. This was the core message delivered during the school’s 29th graduation ceremony.
In her address, the school’s principal, Dr. Bolalenle Adebawojo, emphasized the importance of hard work, integrity, and trust in God as the students move forward in life. She urged the graduates to be the best versions of themselves, saying, “As you embark on this new journey, reflect on how far you’ve come and always strive to be the best. You’ve faced challenges with courage and determination, and I encourage you to keep that spirit alive.”
Dr. Adebawojo also reminded the students that learning is a lifelong process and advised them to lean on their faith for guidance in future decisions.
The Vice-Chancellor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Oladimeji Alao, lauded the school’s achievements in academics, sports, and competitions. He highlighted the institution’s plans to introduce an A-Level program for students under 16, especially in light of possible Federal Government policies limiting university admissions for younger students.
Prof. Abiodun Adesegun, Chairman of the Babcock University Schools’ Management Board, praised the school for combining technological advancements with spiritual development, advising the graduates to use technology positively and for good causes.
Guest speaker, Prof. Isaac Olayinka Oyewole, in his lecture titled “Building Resilience in a Morally Decadent World,” stressed the importance of upholding strong moral values in a society increasingly plagued by social vices such as corruption and violence. He called on the students, parents, and the entire community to be agents of positive change.
