A Bayelsa-based customer, Mr. Nwoke Caleb Chinedu, has raised concerns over alleged unauthorized deductions from his accounts with United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Access Bank Plc.
Speaking to *South-South PUNCH* in Yenagoa on Monday, Chinedu claimed the debits were for a loan he purportedly received but never actually accessed.
Frustrated by the situation, Chinedu engaged the legal firm S.O. Dike & Partners, which issued a seven-day pre-action notice to the banks demanding rectification of the alleged errors.
In the petition, the legal counsel highlighted the financial hardship their client was enduring due to the unauthorized deductions, prompting the ultimatum.
Chinedu stated that he is prepared to pursue legal action if the banks fail to address the issue within the stipulated timeframe.
