The winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has announced plans to establish a Non-Governmental Organisation dedicated to supporting the girl child.
Imisi made the disclosure in Lagos after receiving an additional N2 million cheque from BetKing, a prize for a competition she won during her time in the BBNaija house. She described the gesture as both overwhelming and inspiring.
Reflecting on her personal journey, Imisi shared that her challenging childhood experiences had long motivated her to create a platform to assist young girls facing similar struggles.
“I am overwhelmed, happy, and grateful. As a lady, I know what it was like growing up, and I really want to do something for the girl child. It has always been my desire, and I believe now is the time to make it happen,” she said.
The reality star, who had been an actress before joining the BBNaija show, credited the platform for giving her greater visibility and recognition. “I have been acting for a while, but Big Brother really gave me the exposure I needed, and I am very grateful,” she added.
At the cheque presentation, BetKing’s Head of Marketing, Nengi Akinola, explained that the company introduced special competitions during the show to reward housemates while showcasing BetKing’s exclusive games to a broader audience.
Akinola highlighted games such as *Danfo Lagos*, *JJ Ball X*—a collaboration with football legend Jay Jay Okocha—and *Film House*, all created to engage entertainment fans through the BBNaija platform. She described the partnership as BetKing’s first collaboration with the show and said the company would assess its impact before deciding on future engagements.
“The possibilities are endless,” Akinola said. “We are analysing the value derived from this collaboration, and when we start planning for next year, we’ll see what lies ahead.”
