Popular Big Brother Naija reality star, Deeone, has revealed that his recent appearance on the *Honest Bunch* podcast was a deliberate ploy to expose social media critic, VeryDarkMan.
Speaking on the *Breakfast Show* on TVC, Deeone admitted that he planned his controversial appearance without the knowledge of the podcast’s host, Nedu Wazobia.
His initial comments on *Honest Bunch*, where he accused VeryDarkMan of being sexually involved with men, sparked a heated backlash. In response, VeryDarkMan released a controversial Instagram video accusing Nedu of exploiting his platform to demand sexual favors from rising entertainers in exchange for features. He further threatened to disclose names of industry figures Nedu had allegedly confided in him about.
The fallout from the controversy ultimately led to Nedu’s dismissal from the podcast.
Expressing regret over the unintended consequences, Deeone said on TVC:
*”Can I be honest and say the truth? I was the one who set a trap for VDM using Nedu. I planned the whole thing alone, but Nedu did not know. If I had said it on social media, they would accuse me of trying to make money, but I needed a platform. I had been studying VeryDarkMan for months; I wanted to know if he was real or just manipulating Nigerians.”*
He added that Nedu, whom he described as a friend of VeryDarkMan, was unaware of his scheme and would not have agreed had he known.
*”I didn’t know Nedu was going to lose his job. I feel really bad and sorry about that. I used Nedu as the bait to get the fish (VeryDarkMan), and it worked perfectly.”*
The revelation has further fueled discussions on the fallout from the controversial podcast episode.
