The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Hon. Ossy Onuko has stated that prior to Governor Soludo’s coming, Awka was like a glorified village.

Mr Onuko made the revelation in his Awka office Friday, during an interview with the I-Witness Media Office anchor, Choice Chioma called The Solution Chat.

He stated that ” Awka, the capital city of Anambra was like a glorified village over the years but today, he (Soludo) has brought so many things including biggest water park in West Africa sitting on a 12-hectare land comprising various amenities that anybody that come into Anambra or Southeast would like to visit and relax”.

Buttressing his point, he pointed out that the project was the first of its kind in Awka the capital city of Anambra state and the first of its kind in Southeast.

” Leisure and entertainment are at the core of every city’s development. One of Governor’s cardinal promises was to make Anambra a destination point and not a departure lounge where people come in and leave almost immediately. Anambra will under Soludo be liveable and prosperous megacity.

He informed that the centre comprised such sections like Family fun centre, an indoor fun place where families can take their children to for relaxation, casinos, balling area, arcade, water park, amusement park amongst others.

Onuko reiterated that Governor Soludo was intentional about the development of Awka town through other projects like roads infrastructure, bridges, Anambra state government house and other gigantic projects being undertaken in Awka by the solution administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

While acknowledging that no society is completely free of crimes and criminality, the ACTDA boss stated the Awka city was relatively secure compared to a few years ago before the coming of Governor Soludo and that the solution administration was working to ensure the safety of citizens.
