The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has started selling nomination forms for the upcoming local government council elections. According to a statement released on Monday by the party’s publicity secretary, Oryina Orvaa, the chairmanship form is priced at N100,000, with an additional N50,000 for the Expression of Interest, both payable to the party’s accounts.
Councillorship forms are available for N70,000, alongside N20,000 for the Expression of Interest. Female aspirants are only required to pay for the Expression of Interest, with nomination forms provided to them at no cost.
The sales and submission of forms are set to close on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Screening of aspirants will begin on August 25, with chairmanship candidates being screened at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi, while councillorship aspirants will be screened at their respective zonal headquarters.
Orvaa urged all party members to adhere to the guidelines as the PDP aims to secure all chairmanship and councillorship positions in the upcoming elections.
