Presiding Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel International, delivered a strong message condemning fraudsters and “Yahoo Boys,” warning youths about the dire consequences of engaging in such activities.
During a service at Canaanland on Sunday, Bishop Oyedepo urged young people to abide by the law and shun fraudulent practices. He emphasized the destructive path awaiting those involved in defrauding others, cautioning them to desist from such activities.
Addressing the congregation, Bishop Oyedepo emphasized the importance of adhering to spiritual laws such as the law of sowing and reaping, seedtime and harvest, and giving and receiving. He urged individuals to embrace these principles wholeheartedly, stressing the rewards that come from living righteously.
Bishop Oyedepo’s stance against internet fraud echoes sentiments expressed by other religious leaders, including Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder of Salvation Ministries. In a sermon delivered in 2022, Pastor Ibiyeomie referred to “Yahoo Boys” as nothing but thieves, warning that they would “know no peace” for their actions of stealing from others.
The clergy’s condemnation of internet fraud highlights a growing concern over the prevalence of online scams and fraudulent activities, particularly among the youth. Their messages serve as reminders of the moral and legal implications of engaging in such behaviors, urging individuals to pursue lawful and righteous paths in their endeavors.
