Famous Nigerian singer Burna Boy has addressed the recent release of Speed Darlington from police detention, offering cryptic comments on the situation.
Speed Darlington was rearrested on November 27, just two months after his initial arrest, which was linked to taunts aimed at Burna Boy. Darlington had mocked Burna Boy over his connection to embattled American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is facing multiple sexual exploitation and human trafficking allegations.
In a post shared on his Instagram story on Tuesday, Burna Boy seemingly reacted to Darlington’s release, warning critics that they are fortunate he exercises restraint due to his current status.
“When they talk, nobody cares, but it’s a nuclear disaster when I react,” he wrote. “You all don’t know how lucky you are that I have too much to lose now. Walahi, a lot of you wouldn’t be here no more. Anyway, make I just go buy another thing to relax.”
Burna Boy’s response highlights his frustration over public criticisms while hinting at his decision to maintain composure for the sake of his career.
