Grammy-winning artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has been crowned the biggest Nigerian artiste of all time on Apple Music. To mark Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary, the streaming platform unveiled the top 10 most streamed Nigerian artists and songs in its history.
Burna Boy leads the list, followed by Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Asake. The top 10 also includes Tems, Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Olamide.
Rema’s global hit, “Calm Down” remix featuring Selena Gomez, secured the top spot as the most streamed Nigerian song ever on the platform. Burna Boy’s “Last Last” and Wizkid’s “Essence” featuring Tems rank second and third, respectively.
Apple Music also highlighted Nigeria’s cultural diversity by showcasing Afrobeats stars from various regions, including 2Baba (Jos), Omah Lay (Port Harcourt), Odumodublvck (Abuja), and Seyi Vibez (Lagos).
