Following a meeting of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee in Nairobi, Kenya, CAF President Patrice Motsepe has announced that the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 will take place from February 1 to 28, 2025.
The first round of qualifiers for the tournament is scheduled for the weekend of October 25-27, 2024.
While the tournament will be hosted in East Africa, CAF has yet to confirm the specific stadiums and venues that will be used, with details expected to be announced soon.
Motsepe, who visited several of the venues in Kenya on Sunday, acknowledged the progress made by the Kenyan government but emphasized the need for continued collaboration to ensure all facilities are ready on time.
Senegal are the reigning CHAN champions, having defeated Algeria in the final held in Algiers two years ago.
