Cameroon has become the fourth nation to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following a 2-1 victory over South Africa in Rabat on Sunday night.
The Indomitable Lions took the lead in the 34th minute through Junior Tchamadeu. Shortly after the restart, Christian Kofane extended Cameroon’s advantage, scoring just two minutes into the second half.
South Africa mounted a late challenge when Evidence Makgopa pulled one back in the 88th minute with a composed finish, creating a tense end to the encounter. However, Cameroon held on to secure the win.
With the result, Cameroon joins Morocco, Mali and Senegal in the last eight of the tournament.
