American rapper Cardi B has shrugged off concerns about the impact of the recent TikTok ban in the United States on her career.
The popular platform ceased operations in the U.S. on January 19 after its Chinese owners failed to comply with a law enacted by President Joe Biden in April 2024 mandating the platform’s sale.
Following the ban, a social media user with the handle @1lex mocked rappers who rely on TikTok for promotion, suggesting they would need to seek alternative jobs. The post singled out Cardi B, saying, “Now, all the female TikTok rappers gotta find real jobs. You first, @imcardib.”
In response, Cardi B dismissed the remark, highlighting her financial success. She replied, “Babe, I’m getting a $7 million offer to do my own vitamins. I can retire you from your flipping burger job by tomorrow. Thank me though; I’ve been helping you get your $8.99 Twitter check.”
The exchange highlights the rapper’s confidence in her career and her ability to thrive regardless of the TikTok ban.
