The Onitsha community came together in solemn unity on Thursday, November 27, 2025, as family members, relations, friends, and well-wishers gathered to pay their final respects to Late Mrs. Enyi Akurienne Victoria Ojebeta Abadom (née Aghadiuno), a revered matriarch who passed away at the extraordinary age of 104 years.

Born in 1921, the centenarian was celebrated as a woman of remarkable resilience, deep faith, cultural pride, and a life defined by service to both family and community. Her long years, marked by grace and endurance, made her a symbol of heritage and generational continuity.

The funeral activities began early in the morning, with her remains leaving St. Charles Borromeo Mortuary at 6:00 a.m. for her residence at No. 6 Chugbo Akwue, Off Obeleagu Street, Onitsha. The lying-in-state commenced at 7:00 a.m., allowing sympathizers to pay their last respects.

A solemn Burial Mass followed at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Inland Town, Onitsha, where priests and parishioners highlighted Mama Victoria’s unwavering devotion to God and her inspirational role as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and community figure.
