Renowned singer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has raised concerns about the health of President Bola Tinubu following his recent undisclosed trip to London.
President Tinubu’s unexpected departure to London came after his attendance at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His itinerary has kept him in transit since departing Nigeria for the Netherlands on April 23.
The lack of official communication from the Presidency regarding Tinubu’s trip has triggered speculation and garnered reactions from various quarters.
Charly Boy, in his response, questioned the well-being of the President and criticized the Presidency for disseminating what he described as “very fake and twisted lies” to the public.
Expressing skepticism about Tinubu’s fitness for governance, Charly Boy called for his resignation, suggesting that the ruling party’s reliance on propaganda cannot substitute for effective economic policies.
In a post shared on his social media handle, Charly Boy highlighted the purported role of former Vice President Peter Obi in the political landscape, questioning the tactics deployed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to undermine perceived opposition.
He criticized the APC’s alleged use of ethnic and religious divisions to target political adversaries, with Peter Obi being a frequent target of malicious attacks.
Concluding his message, Charly Boy lamented the state of affairs in Nigeria and urged Tinubu to step down from his position, asserting that the current challenges facing the country exceed his capacity to address them effectively.
