Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that English Premier League powerhouse Chelsea has taken the first steps toward securing the signature of Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
According to Romano, Chelsea has engaged in discussions with the agent of the Super Eagles forward regarding a potential move to west London. The Blues are reportedly among the leading European clubs keen on acquiring the services of the Nigerian international during the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) poses significant competition in the race for Osimhen’s signature. Despite PSG’s interest, the 25-year-old forward is believed to be more inclined towards a move to the Premier League rather than a return to Ligue 1.
Romano shed light on Chelsea’s proactive approach in the transfer market, revealing, “They have a shortlist of players, maybe four or five names for each position but you still don’t know who is the top target but at the end of the day, you are already speaking to agents to discuss opportunities.”
He further disclosed that Chelsea has initiated talks with agents representing various players, including those of Osimhen and other potential targets for the striker position.
