Football market expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea is close to finalizing a deal with Leicester City for manager Enzo Maresca.
Following the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino after the last Premier League match day, despite qualifying for European competition, Chelsea has been actively seeking a new top manager for the upcoming season.
Enzo Maresca successfully led Leicester City back to the Premier League after their relegation to the Championship last season. Romano stated that both clubs have agreed on a deal worth approximately €10 million.
“Chelsea are about to complete the agreement with Leicester for Enzo Maresca — it will cost around €10m,” Romano reported. “Clubs are set to agree also on a fee for the staff, with the deal expected to be signed in the next few days. It’s all done between Maresca and Chelsea on a contract until 2029, with an option for extension.”
