Romano addressed the situation in a tweet on Tuesday night, dismissing claims that the Blues had pulled out of the pursuit.
According to Romano, Chelsea’s interest in the Nigerian international has never waned, and the club is still keen on securing his signature before the summer transfer window closes. However, Osimhen is reportedly only open to a permanent move and is unwilling to reduce his salary as part of any transfer negotiations.
Romano’s update comes amid ongoing speculation linking Osimhen with several top European clubs, including Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. The striker, who has been a standout performer for Napoli, is eager to leave the Serie A side, making him one of the most sought-after players in the current transfer market.
“Interest has always been and remains there,” Romano tweeted. “But Osimhen is still only open to leaving on a permanent transfer and not reducing his salary. No changes so far.”
