Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina, Nigeria’s representative at the 73rd Miss Universe Competition, has been crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, marking a historic achievement for the country.
Adetshina finished as the first runner-up at the global pageant held in Mexico, placing behind the winner, Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig. With this feat, Adetshina becomes the first Miss Universe Nigeria to achieve a top-two placement on the international stage.
Before her Miss Universe journey, Adetshina was crowned Miss Nigeria. Her path to the title was marked by resilience, including withdrawing from the Miss South Africa contest amid scrutiny over her nationality.
Her historic accomplishment not only solidifies her position as Miss Universe Nigeria but also elevates her status as a prominent ambassador for Africa and Oceania on the global pageantry platform.
