Twenty indigent men from Ichida community have received brand new motorcycles from philanthropist High Chief Inno-Posh Chikezie, popularly known as the Ide of Ichida. The motorcycles, each valued at over 1.5 million naira, were distributed to beneficiaries selected through an open ballot system across the twenty villages that make up the community.
The empowerment event, which held at Ichida Civic Centre, also saw Chief Chikezie donate one million naira and a laptop computer to Saint Charles Galaxy Hospital, Ichida. The ceremony was attended by the Ichida Progress Union executive, village representatives, and officials from Anaocha Local Government Area.
Chief Chikezie, accompanied by his wife Ebele, stated that the gesture was motivated by love for humanity, not politics. He expressed hope that the motorcycles would enable the beneficiaries to provide for their families and improve their livelihoods, while praying for continued peace and grace in the community.
The Mayor of Anaocha, Honourable Rom Ibekwe, and the President-General of Ichida Progress Union, Chief Uchenna Enechi, applauded the gesture, noting it would help lift the beneficiaries out of poverty. They also offered advice on how to use the motorcycles profitably.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Pastor Destiny Ezeokeke and the hospital’s manager, Reverend Father Augustine Igwebuike, described the donations as unprecedented in Ichida and worthy of emulation. They offered prayers for Chief Chikezie’s continued blessings.
After the presentation, Chief Chikezie and his delegation inspected hospital facilities and formally handed over the donation.
