Commuters and commercial bus drivers in Awka have commended the Anambra State Government for its efforts in standardizing bus terminals across major cities. The praise follows the commissioning of the newly constructed Solution Bus Terminal at Arroma Junction in Awka.
The facility, which is part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s infrastructure agenda, addresses safety concerns caused by irregular loading spots and aims to enhance the travel experience within the state.
The Solution Bus Terminal is designed to improve transportation and traffic flow, offering drivers and passengers an organized environment. Key features of the terminal include a modern toilet system and a passenger lounge, providing comfort for users.
Mr. Uchenna Nwoji, a driver, highlighted the terminal’s potential to promote orderliness in the state’s transport system. He urged drivers still operating at unauthorized spots to transition to the new terminals for a better and safer experience.
Passengers also shared their satisfaction with the development. Mrs. Lizz Onuorah described the terminal as a solution to the challenges passengers faced when boarding vehicles along the road, praising Governor Soludo’s focus on quality infrastructure.
Another commuter, Mr. Chukwunonso Nwokedi, noted the terminal’s added benefits, such as improved security and the ability to easily trace vehicles in case of lost items or emergencies. He described the project as a transformative step toward achieving serenity in the Arroma area of Awka.
The standardized bus terminal initiative is expected to not only improve transportation efficiency but also boost economic activities around these hubs, further enhancing the state’s urban infrastructure.
