Court Orders Social Media Critic to Delete Defamatory Videos on Femi Falana, SAN

A Lagos State High Court in Ikeja has ordered social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, to delete all defamatory videos concerning prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN. The court also directed Otse to refrain from making any further comments about Falana and his family.

The ruling comes after Falana accused Otse of defaming him by alleging that he facilitated a pardon for cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky. The accusations were made in a video released by VeryDarkMan on September 24, 2024, which included a leaked voice recording of Bobrisky recounting how singer Falz allegedly contacted him during a six-month jail term.

In response to the allegations, the Falanas had issued a letter demanding a retraction and an apology from VeryDarkMan within 24 hours. Falana also revealed that he had considered filing a criminal complaint against the social media critic before opting for legal action.
