Court Remands Four Computer Center Operators in Aba for Forging Legal Documents

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Aba South, Abia State, has remanded four computer center operators, accused of conspiracy, impersonation, and forgery, in a Nigeria Correctional Service facility. The suspects—Onuoha Ikechukwu, Daniel Lawrence, Odinaka Onyeforo, and Ndukwe Chukwu—allegedly forged Powers of Attorney and other legal documents using stolen letterheads and seals of both living and deceased lawyers.

The suspects, who were patronized by lawyers for document preparation, were found with over 70 forged documents. The charges against them include violating sections of the Criminal Code of Abia State. They pleaded not guilty, and the court adjourned the case to October 25 for bail consideration.

Charles Oluchukwu, Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Aba branch, condemned the actions of the accused and vowed to prosecute both the operators and any lawyers involved. He emphasized that a committee had been formed to crack down on these illegal activities and warned the public against patronizing quacks for legal services.
